The Cisco 8821 Desktop Charger can be used to charge your phone as well as a spare phone battery. The charger can be powered by either alternating current or a charged spare phone battery. A standard laptop cable lock can be used to secure it. If your phone has a protective case, you do not need to remove it before charging it on the desktop charger. You modify the charger to fit your phone. You can connect the desktop charger to the Ethernet using a USB to Ethernet adapter (dongle) for only automatic Wi-Fi profile provisioning and certificate enrolment. The dongle cannot be used to make voice calls over Ethernet. See the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 and 8821-EX Administration Guide for more information on the USB port.
